Libby Fox Fine Artist

"My work focuses on the body and through different mediums including soft sculpture, ceramic, found objects and film, I explore the shapes, meanings and processes of the human form. Clay is a big part of my process, it is sometimes the subject and other times, the medium but my exploration with this material is ongoing and forever changing."

As a Fine artist my work spans a range of mediums including, sculpture, performance, film and ceramics. I enjoy working with a variety of materials as they often discern the outcome of the project I'm working on. Throughout my artistic education, I have been fascinated with the human body and works have ranged from photographic portraits to soft sculptures embodying the feeling of the human form. Recently however, my interest has been focused on ceramics as clay is such a fascinating material to me and one that holds many possibilities.

I believe that art is a very useful tool for expression, consolidation of ideas and as a way to bring people together through the power of shared experience.

I have been involved in many artistic and non artistic based projects in my local community. I believe that community involvement is important in order to bring about change in our society. I have had experience in working within schools and communities to bring artistic workshops and activities aimed at children. My hope is that with my art, I can inspire people to use their own creativity in this way.
